Youth Project

Against the Grain

Financial Literacy

Recognizing that financial knowledge should begin early in life, the Foundation will partner with financial institutions, corporations, and other non-profits to offer courses on saving and credit.

Mentorship

As a part of the Against the Grain Project, the Foundation will provide opportunities for youth to interface with professionals from the local community to build mentor/mentee relationships. Project activities will include information sessions, guest speakers, and skill implementation. A cohort of 9th grade students will be targeted for participation throughout their high school tenure.

Entrepreneurship

An additional area of focus for the Against the Grain Project will be practical economics and micro-entrepreneurship. Participants in the project will have opportunities to learn how to establish and operate a small business, along with engaging current youth entrepreneurs.
